PDFree was built out of a simple frustration: every time you need to compress, merge, or split a PDF, most online tools force you to upload your files to a remote server. Contracts, medical records, financial statements — private documents sent to someone else’s computer, with no real guarantee of what happens to them afterward.

There had to be a better way. Modern browsers are extraordinarily capable — powerful enough to handle many PDF operations directly on your device, without touching any server. For more complex operations (compress, merge, split, protect, unlock), files are processed on an encrypted server and deleted immediately — never stored, never shared. So we built PDFree: a complete PDF toolkit that respects your privacy and costs nothing.
