Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between split and extract?

Split divides one PDF into multiple files (e.g. one PDF per page, or one per range). Extract pulls selected pages out into a single new PDF, leaving the original unchanged. Use split for batch separation, extract for cherry-picking.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Up to 20 PDFs in a single operation on the free plan. Total size limit is 50 MB combined. For larger merges, combine in batches of 20 then merge the resulting files.

Will the merged PDF preserve bookmarks and links?

Bookmarks are preserved per source file. Internal hyperlinks within a single source file remain intact. Cross-file links (links pointing to a different source PDF) become broken after merging โ€” common limitation across all PDF merge tools.

Are these tools privacy-safe?

Three of the five tools (reorder, delete-pages, extract-pages) run entirely in your browser โ€” files never upload. Two tools (merge, split) run server-side because they need to combine or fragment large files efficiently. Server-side files are deleted from memory immediately after the download is delivered.
